Neeraj Chopra's 87.66m Throw Secures Victory at Lausanne Diamond League 2023



 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist , Neeraj Chopra after winning a gold medal in Doha leg of Diamond League 2023, has won the second gold in the Lausanne leg of Diamond League 2023.

Due to a injury during training, Chopra has avoided many competitions this year. His first competition was the Doha leg of Diamond League ,where he got the first gold medal of the season for his 88.67 metres in  the Diamond League .

Neeraj 's first throw was a foul but he came back into the game by his second throw. Again in the fourth throw there was a foul from Neeraj. It was in the fifth attempt he produced the 87.66m throw . 



Neeraj Chopra aged 26 is an young who is a good javelin thrower. He is the current Olympic Champion and silver medalist at the World Championships. He is the first Asian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in men's javelin throw. He  won the world U20 record throw of 86.48 meters at the World Under-20 Championships in 2016, becoming the first Indian athlete to set a world record.

The Diamond League is a prestigious series of international athletics meetings organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) since 2010. Diamond League  consists of 14 events held in different cities around the world, with each meeting offering a wide range of track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance and long-distance races, hurdles, jumps, throws, and relays. Every year the Diamond League starts in May month and ends in December month, each leg held at 17 different cities of the world.
