5 top buys of women of womenplayers at WPL aution 2023 edition.

On 13 February, at Jio convention Hall Mumbai ,the auction to purchase players by the five teams for the first women’s [premier league was held .For the auction ,around 1500 players had registered their names.Each franchise team has 12crores to spend and purchase between 15 to 18 players among them, 6 can be overseas players. Malika Advani was the auctioneer for the inaugural edition of WPL.


Indian national crush batter Smriti Mandana was the first player to be sold at the Women's Premier League auction.She was auctioned at a price of INR 3.4cr by Royal Challengers Bangalore. She made the record of expensive buy at the inaugural WPL season and the first player to buy by a team.

The second highest buy was by Mumbai Indians for an English allrounder Natalie Sciver at INR3.2 Cr. The Gujarath Giants bought Australian allrounder Ashleigh Gardner for INR 3.2 Cr.
Third highest purchase was by UP Warriorz for Deepti Sharma at an amount of INR 2.6 Cr. Jemimah Rodrigues will play for Delhi Capital, who signed her for INR 2.2 Cr. The winning Captain of first U-19 WorldCup , Shafali Verma will play for the Delhi capitals, who signed her for INR 2 Cr. The Australian batter Beth Mooney was bought by Gujarath Giants for INR 2 Cr.
The inaugural WPL has 2 expensive foreign players Ashleigh Gardner by Gujarat Giants and Nat Sciver Brunt by Mumbai Indians ,. They both where bought for INR 3.2Cr by the respective teams. The first buy of Mumbai Indians was Hamanpreet Kaur for INR 1.8Cr. England all rounder Nat Sciver Brunt selected by Mumbai Indians is their expensive player.
