Women's IPL 2023

The most famous franchise cricket league of India for men is IPL(Indian Premier League) owned and goverend by the BCCI(The Board of Control for Cricket in India),which was started in 2007. Now after the huge succes of men's IPL, BCCI has started Women's IPL from 2023.The first season of the newly founded women's IPL will start from March 2023 at Mumbai and NaviMumbai. The number of teams participating in the first season of WPL is five.


    The first women's IPL on March 4,2023

    The teams and the auction for the players are over by mid February 2023.So the BCCI has fixed March 4 ,2023 as the first day of first play fro the Women's IPL 2023 first season.The inaugural edition of WPL starts wwith a macth between Mumbai Indians and Gujarath Giants.

    WPL auction held on Feb 13 and 14 of 2023

    The 5 teams of WPL have selected their players by auctioning.Even though the captains are yet to be decided by the teams, the player list are availbale finally as shown below.

    The Royal Challengers Bangalore team has selected the following players to play for the first season of WPL in 2023 March scedule.

    The WPL first season will have 22 games with the top-ranked team in the league stage qualifying directly for the finals. The second and third placed teams will battle out for a place in the title clash.Tata Group is the title sponser of WOmen's Premier League season 1. The partners for WPL season 1 includes Dream 11, Amul and CEAT . Amul is the pouring partner( who supply beverages),CEAT is the Strategic timeout partner and Dream 11 is the Fantasy League partner for the first season of Women's Premier League.
