The football lover's one year wait for the next upcoming ISL is coming to an end- The ISL 2022-23 commences on October 7 in Kochi.The ISL 2022-23 is the 9th edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).ISL is India’s one of the top-tier football league. After a gap of two seasons, ISL is coming back to the home-and-away format in 2022-23 season. On October 7 2022, the 2021-22 season runnerup Kerala Blaster will host East Bengal FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
The season 9 of ISL marks the major changes of scheduling the matches between Thursday and Sunday, for bringing the ISL in line with the top global football leagues.The ISL season 9 also marks the huge fans coming back to the stadiums after a two years gap.The 2022-23 season ISL will have matches near to five months which includes the playoffs games, semi-final games and final game.
Number of players in each sqaud of ISL season9
Each football club in ISL season 9 will play 20 league matches in which 10 matches at the home ground and 10 at away grounds.There is currently 11 clubs in the ISL League. Each Club is allowed to register a minimum of twenty-five and a maximum of thirty-five players for ISL. Each Club for ISL 9th season can have six overseas players in the squad in which one player Among the six foreign players must be from the AFC nation.
New PlayOff format in 2022-23 season
Another new addition to the ISL play format is the elimination - Eliminator1 and Eliminator2.
